The M80 is a rugged monitor allowing for remote vibration monitoring, with battery power for up to 8 months.

Select option:

Mounting Floor & Wall Sensor

Step 1:
A. Place the black box in the required position
B. Place the geophone in measurement position

Step 2:

How to position geophone
[Follow BS5228 Guidance]
A. Wall Mount Option
Use the through hole for wall mounting
B. Floor Mount Option
Bolt the sensor to the plate
Screw the 3 x pins to the floor plate base
Level the geophone and plate
C. Point the arrow on the sensor towards the source of vibration

Step 3:
Attach the cables to the black box in order, matching the colours:
Channel 1 = T (RED CABLE)
Channel 2 = V (BLACK CABLE)
Channel 3 = L (GREEN CABLE)

TOOLS REQUIRED

Metric set of Allen keys
Adjustable spanner
Battery operated drill with an 8mm masonry drill bit for the wall plug where required.
Padlock to secure the monitor in the locking clamp
Zip ties to tidy up the loose cable

WALL MOUNTED

Small hammer (to tap in the wall plug if required)
3 x 8mm diameter x 40-60mm anchor wall plug, depending on surface type for fixing the security locking clamp and geophone to the wall.
2 x 40-60mm short screws for the security locking clamp
2 x 25mm diameter washers for the screws used to fix the locking clamp
1 x 20mm washer for the geophone (included with the floor plate kit)
1 x Long screw which protrudes the geophone, must protrude 40-60mm into the selected wall plug. A selection of screws 40-100mm are best.

How to START a measurement:

1. Press the CONNECT button once and wait for a signal to be displayed.

1 x LED = poor signal

2 x LED = average signal

3 x LED = good signal.

2. Press the START/STOP button once

3. Wait… after a short while, the START/STOP LED should blink slowly every couple of seconds to indicate the measurement is now running.

How to Stop a measurement:

1. Press and hold START/STOP button for 5 seconds

2. START/STOP LED will stop blinking

3. DATA PROCESSING light will remain on for approx. 1 min. Once off, data has been sent to the cloud.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Always stop the measurement before moving the equipment.
DATA PROCESSING light is on when it is uploading/downloading

How to change the batteries:

1. Hold START/STOP to stop the measurement.

2. Ensure DATA PROCESSING light is OFF before proceeding.

3. Open the battery compartment by twisting the locks.

4. Pull out black battery holder and replace 6 x D-Cell batteries, making sure the batteries are the correct way up.

5. Once batteries are replaced and compartment is closed, press START/STOP once to restart measurement.
